The Problem

The Challenge

BlackLine was establishing its Global Capability Centre in India and this expansion demanded niche technical talent at speed. With a recruitment team of just 3 - 4 members and 25 positions to fill, the pressure was immediate.

KEY HIRING CHALLENGES:

  • A lean internal TA team tasked with filling 25 highly specialised C# engineering roles for the GCC.
  • Roles demanded a rare combination of skills - C# proficiency paired with cybersecurity exposure, finance domain understanding, or product engineering experience
  • 50 candidates had already been reviewed internally but none met the requirement.

The gap here wasn't effort… it was expertise in translating a complex brief into the right talent profile.

How We Did It

Our Approach — the Peepal Way

To address the client’s hiring challenges, we implemented a structured, end-to-end strategised approach focused on role clarity, faster turnaround, and stronger candidate management. Here’s what we delivered:

  • Complete role comprehension: We understood not just the technical requirement but the domain context and skill combinations that defined a truly qualified candidate
  • We crafted job descriptions that accurately reflected the requirement, ensuring the right talent was attracted and assessed against the right benchmark
  • A 48-hour turnaround was consistently maintained on shortlists, ensuring strong candidates were engaged before competing opportunities could intervene
  • We managed candidate resistance to in-person interviews (a nuanced challenge for a GCC brand new to the India market) through active relationship management and credible employer positioning
  • We handled long, multi-stage interview processes for niche roles without losing candidates mid-funnel
  • We delivered a strong offer-to-joinee conversion, reflecting the quality of candidate fit and the effectiveness of end-to-end pipeline management
